The Actor Awards Presented by SAG-AFTRA

Starting with the 32nd annual ceremony, the Screen Actors Guild Awards has changed its name to better reflect its true spirit and position as the only industry honor given to actors, by actors.

The new name, The Actor Awards Presented by SAG-AFTRA, is inspired by both our iconic statuette, The Actor®, and the power of human performance.

Nothing about what makes the show special is changing. The Actor Awards remain exclusively voted on by SAG-AFTRA members. The categories remain the same, and the night remains ours as a gathering of actors honoring actors.

General Voting Information

Voting for the Actor Awards is done in two stages:

Nominations Balloting
The first stage is determined by two nominating committees, one for Motion Pictures and one for Television. Each committee is composed of 2,500 members who opt in to serve. Members are selected at random each year from the pool of active, paid up SAG-AFTRA members in good standing who have not served on a nominating committee in the past eight years. These committees are charged with determining the nominees in each category.

Final Balloting
The second stage begins after nominations are announced in early January 2027, when eligible SAG-AFTRA members can vote on the final awards. To be eligible, members must be in good standing and have paid their 2026 dues by December 9. During this phase, eligible members receive access to digital screeners to assist in their viewing and voting.

Actor Awards Screenings

The Actor Awards has established an email database for members who wish to be contacted with screening invitations. Paid-up SAG-AFTRA members in good standing may sign up for the Actor Awards RSVP Program at any time.

Please know that these may happen very last minute and RSVPs will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
