Motion Picture Nominating Committee Frequently Asked Questions
GENERAL
How do I change my address/phone number/email address?
You can update your phone number, email, and mailing address (for all Actor Awards mailings only), or change the regions where you receive screening notifications in your Nom Comm Dashboard.
IMPORTANT: All Nom Comm address changes must be made with the Awards Office, as our database is not shared with SAG-AFTRA membership.
How is the Nominating Committee selected?
The Actor Awards Motion Picture and Television Nominating Committees are newly drawn each year. Each Committee is made up of 2,500 members. The committees are selected from a random computer-generated lottery drawing of active, paid-up members.
Can I serve on the Nominating Committee every year?
Members selected to serve on the Motion Picture and Television Nominating Committees are not eligible to serve on their respective committees again for 8 years. This allows more members the opportunity to serve on these important committees.
Is my service on the Nominating Committee confidential?
Yes. We want to keep you and your information confidential from the studios/networks and the press. You may tell your friends and family about your participation, but DO NOT post any information about your service or FYC materials received on social media.
Do I get paid for being on the Nominating Committee?
No. Service on the Nominating Committee is voluntary and considered a privilege.
Do I get to attend the Actor Awards as a member of the Nominating Committee?
Unfortunately, no. Our venue is not large enough to hold our Actor Awards nominees and their guests, as well as all 5,000 Nominating Committee members. We appreciate your understanding and continued support of the Actor Awards. You can still join the celebration by tuning in to the live broadcast on Netflix on February 28, 2027, or attending a watch party at select SAG-AFTRA local offices across the country.
Can I volunteer to work on the Actor Awards?
Unfortunately, no. We are unable to accept volunteers due to liability reasons.
Are my dues used to pay for the Actor Awards?
No. Members’ dues are not used to produce the Actor Awards.
AWARDS PIN
How can I find my Awards PIN?
You can retrieve your Awards PIN anytime in your Nom Comm Dashboard. Your Awards PIN is a 7-digit alphanumeric code that is unique to you. This PIN is your key to unlocking digital FYC options and voting online to select the nominees for the 33rd Annual Actor Awards.
Can I share my Awards PIN?
Absolutely not. Sharing your Awards PIN, Committee website access, or Nom Comm card with anyone is strictly prohibited. Any violation of this rule could result in your immediate removal from present or future Nominating Committees, jeopardize final voting eligibility and eligibility to receive For Your Consideration materials, as well as subject you to union disciplinary charges.
NOM COMM CARD
When and where will I use my digital Nom Comm card?
Your digital Nom Comm card identifies you as a member of the Motion Picture Nominating Committee. This card can be printed or saved to your digital wallet for event check-in and verification at screenings, Q&As, and FYC events hosted by the studios.
I lost my Nom Comm card. What do I do?
After July 27th, you may download your digital Nom Comm card anytime from your Nom Comm Dashboard.
Can I get into movie theaters for free with my Nom Comm card?
You will be notified via email of any opportunities to see films for free with your Nom Comm card. Digital screeners, DVDs, and Nom Comm event screenings will be more common.
VOTING AND REVIEW
When should I start watching performances?
Right away. The eligibility period is January 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026.
How will I know who is eligible for consideration?
All materials distributed by the Actor Awards will relate only to eligible submitted performances. Beginning November 30, 2026, you will have access to the official nominations ballot listing all eligible submissions in each category.
If I don’t have time to view all of the performances, should I still vote?
Yes. There are no specific requirements on how many films you view. Like any voting process, we ask you to be as informed as you can be before making your selections.
Will I be given access to see all of the submitted performances?
As no membership dues are used to hold screenings or send DVDs or digital screeners of motion pictures up for consideration, the cost of doing so is left to the studios. While we encourage every studio to make their projects available to the Nominating Committee, we cannot require them to do so.
Who can submit a performance for consideration?
Actors may submit their own performances for consideration in categories of the actor’s choosing. With the actor’s permission, producers, studios/networks, agents, managers, or publicists may also submit performances for consideration. Visit actorawards.org/awards.org for more information.
How do I vote?
Voting for the Actor Awards will be solely online. Your Awards PIN is your key to vote online for Actor Awards nominees and unlock digital FYC options sent by the studios. You can retrieve your Awards PIN anytime by visiting the Nom Comm website. Online voting will open on Monday, December 14th, 2026.
All votes must be cast by Sunday, January 3rd, 2027 at 5 PM PT.
FYC MATERIALS AND DVDs
When will I receive FYC DVDs or digital screeners?
We recommend studios send their titles to Nom Comm members as soon as possible. We expect activity to pick up in October/November through the voting deadline in January.
As no membership dues are used to provide screeners of films for consideration, the cost of doing so is left to the studios and networks. While we encourage every studio to make their projects available to the Nominating Committee, we cannot require them to do so.
DVDs will only be sent to members who opted in to receive them.
When will digital screener access expire?
All digital screener access will expire the evening of January 3, 2027, after Nom Comm voting closes.
What is an encoded screener?
Due to the serious concern over piracy, some networks and studios may choose to provide encoded (or watermarked) screeners, where the screener is encoded specifically to your Awards PIN. This will only be for select online digital screeners decided upon by the studios.
Do I need a computer to view digital screeners and FYC Extras?
Yes. You will need a computer, laptop, phone, or tablet and an internet connection to access digital screeners and FYC Extras. Actors FYC which hosts all motion picture digital screeners, has an app that can be downloaded on an Apple TV, Roku, iPad, and some Smart TVs.
May I share my DVDs or digital screeners with friends and family?
You may certainly watch your DVDs or digital screeners with friends and family; however, you are prohibited from loaning, renting, selling, or otherwise distributing the DVDs, or streaming information you have been provided as a member of the Nominating Committee.
How can I dispose of my screeners?
Per studio guidelines, once Awards season is over, you may either cut the DVDs in half or scratch the bottom of the discs to render them unusable. You may not loan, rent, sell, or give away your screeners to anyone.
Your Awards PIN and digital screener access will automatically expire on January 3, 2027, after nominations voting closes.
What if I am having trouble accessing a digital screener?
Actors FYC hosts all digital screeners. Help options are clearly marked on both the Actors FYC login page and once you are logged in. There you can find FAQs and the ability to chat with a live support team. You may also email support@indee.tv.
EVENTS AND Q&AS
What type of events will I be invited to as a member of the Nominating Committee?
Throughout the nominations period, studios will invite Nom Comm members to attend FYC events, Q&As, and screenings.
How will I be notified when an FYC event is available?
Most event invitations are sent via email and you can RSVP directly to the studio hosting the event. When RSVPing, please make sure to indicate 'Actor Awards Nom Comm' as your affiliation.
You may also receive limited invitations or screening calendars listing screenings without Q&As in the mail.
IMPORTANT: You may want to check your spam filter and security settings on your email account to allow screening notices to be emailed to you. These notices may be blocked if your settings are too high. Add the following email address to your address book to ensure the email is recognized: DoNotReply@mg.ivsballot.com.
Where can I find the Nom Comm event calendar?
You can find a list of Nominating Committee events by location HERE. Official Actor Awards Nom Comm Q&A events will be posted as they're scheduled.
Will I be reimbursed for traveling to attend events?
No. As attendance at FYC events is voluntary, no travel expenses will be reimbursed.
What are my options if I can’t participate in events and Q&As?
Many studios will also make their titles available streaming digitally or on DVD for viewing at home. If you have specific questions about which programs may be sent, please contact the Awards Office.
Will I receive a confirmation when I RSVP to an event?
RSVPs are handled directly by the studios hosting events. Confirmation emails with additional information will be sent from them typically within a three-day period prior to the event. In some cases, confirmations may not be emailed until closer to the event date.
I RSVPed immediately to a screening and got a notification that the screening is already full. What happened?
Some events for films that have not been released or have high-profile panelists can fill very quickly due to high demand. Studios manage RSVPs for their events directly and unfortunately, the Actor Awards Office cannot assist in adding you to the list for an event that is full.
May I bring a guest to events and Q&As?
Most screening invites are for you and a guest, but please read all invites thoroughly and RSVP accordingly.
A reminder that Nominating Committee members and their guests are expected to behave in a professional and courteous manner when participating in events and Q&As. Please choose your guests carefully.
If I RSVP to an event and then realize I can’t make it, do I need to cancel?
Yes. If your plans change after you RSVP and you cannot make it, you MUST cancel. No-shows will be tracked. Please cancel using the cancellation email address provided on the invitation, as this will allow others to attend.
What happens if I RSVP for an event and don't show up?
To ensure fair access to screenings and FYC events, the following attendance policy will apply:
- If you RSVP to a screening and realize you cannot attend, you MUST cancel, rather than just not show up. You can do so by responding to the cancellation email address provided on each invitation.
- A no-show occurs when a member RSVPs for an event but does not attend and fails to cancel less than twelve (12) hours in advance.
- Three (3) no-shows will result in a written warning.
- Four (4) no-shows will result in placement on event probation and suspension from receiving event invitations for two (2) weeks.
Do I get priority access at Nom Comm events?
As a Motion Picture Nominating Committee member, you will receive priority admission to Motion Picture Nominating Committee screenings and events when you present your digital Nominating Committee card. Upon arrival, please look for a designated Nominating Committee line if available, or identify yourself to screening staff for assistance.
Occasionally, you may receive invitations to Television screenings if you are registered for the Actor Awards RSVP program. Please note that, because you are serving on the Motion Picture Nominating Committee, you will not receive priority admission to these events. Priority access is reserved for Television Nominating Committee members, and entry for other attendees is subject to availability.
Will events be recorded?
It is up to the studio’s discretion whether or not they record event panels. Any pre-recorded events the studios choose to make available will be sent out through FYC Extras emails.
How do I request ADA accommodations at an event?
If you have ADA accommodation requests, please contact the Awards Office, and our team will reach out to the studio hosting the event.
Complaint about an event?
While we hope everyone has a good experience at studio-hosted events, occasionally problems arise. Please contact the Awards Office with any issues: awardsinfo@actorawards.org, 323-549-6707.
