Nominating Committee Rules

CONFIDENTIALITY

  • Service on the Nominating Committee is considered confidential.

While you may tell your friends and family about your participation, DO NOT post any information about your service or FYC materials received on social media.

  • Sharing your Awards PIN, Committee website access, or Nom Comm card with anyone is strictly prohibited.

  • DO NOT SHARE: event invitations, FYC website, balloting materials, and general Actor Awards information sent to you electronically and via mail.

PROFESSIONALISM AND ATTENDANCE AT EVENTS

  • SAG-AFTRA members serving on the Nominating Committee (and their guests) MUST behave in a professional and courteous manner when attending FYC events. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Behaving courteously towards other members, event organizers/staff, and guests, and avoiding disruptions during events.

    • Complying with the event organizer's rules and policies, particularly with respect to photography and video recording. Autographs, selfies, or photography requests of any kind are not permitted.

    • It is unacceptable for members to attempt to access events without a proper RSVP or ticket, present fraudulent identification, or enable another person to falsely represent themselves using your identification and/or Nominating Committee card.

  • Actor Awards Nominating Committee members may not communicate directly with film companies or their representatives regarding the Actor Awards except to RSVP to screenings. This includes personal requests and comments. If you have ADA accommodation requests, please contact our Awards Office.

  • To ensure fair access to screenings and FYC events, the following attendance policy will apply:

    • If your plans change after you RSVP for an event and you can no longer attend, you MUST cancel. You can do so by using the cancellation email listed on each invitation.

    • A no-show occurs when a member RSVPs for an event but does not attend and fails to cancel less than twelve (12) hours in advance.

      • Three (3) no-shows will result in a written warning.

      • Four (4) no-shows will result in placement on event probation and suspension from receiving event invitations for two (2) weeks.

Any violation of the rules or transgression of decorum will be subject to review by the Awards Committee, which has authority to remove the member from present and future Nominating Committees, and to recommend that a member be brought up on disciplinary charges.

For any and all questions, comments, or requests, please contact the Awards Office.
